This course explores the principles of objective reading and examines how the rhetorical appeals of ethos, pathos, and logos are used to influence an audience, while also covering the rules of proper comma usage. By the end of this course, you will be able to identify the elements of a critical argument and evaluate how authors use rhetorical and grammatical strategies.

This course will focus on developing and implementing critical thinking skills into both essays and when conducting reading and research. We will focus on developing our abilities to read and think in an objective manner. We will also examine the elements of critical thinking, as well as proper comma usage, and the concepts of ethos, pathos, and logos.
