You will also identify the parts of an essay and practice building introductory paragraphs with hooks and thesis statements. In the fine arts unit, you will examine representations of Venus in different art forms and read about Venus as Earth's sister. You will build complex sentences with sentence connectors and develop body paragraphs that include topic sentences and supporting details. Across the course, you will work with vocabulary lists and practice items, listening and reading activities, writing practice, reflections, and unit assessments. By the end, you will have practiced connecting ideas clearly and shaping essay sections for academic writing.
