Build intermediate English skills through academic topics in psychology, fine arts, sociology, global studies, sustainability, and earth science. You will strengthen vocabulary, listening, and reading while developing grammar for academic writing, including sequence words, complex sentences, noun clauses, sentence variety, reported speech, and compare and contrast phrases. As you progress, you will plan and write introductions, body paragraphs, conclusions, narrative essays, problem/solution essays, and compare/contrast essays.
Applied Learning Project
Throughout the Specialization, you will complete vocabulary practice, listening and reading practice, writing practice, reflections, discussions, unit assessments, essay outlines, self-evaluations, and essays. These activities help you move from paragraph-level skills to full essay structures while applying grammar and vocabulary to academic themes.
