There are 3 modules in this course
This course is designed to equip learners with a deep, practice-oriented understanding of Unreal Engine’s Cascade particle system. Through a structured, multi-module approach, participants will construct foundational particle systems such as sprite emitters, implement GPU and mesh-based systems for performance and visual complexity, and integrate advanced emitters like beams, ribbons, and animated trails into real-time environments.
Beginning with basic particle generation and manipulation, the course advances into high-performance GPU effects, curve-based control systems, and physics-enhanced emitters that react to skeletal animations and scene geometry. Learners will apply modular workflows, curve editors, vector fields, and material systems to develop expressive, stylized, or realistic particle effects for games, cinematics, and interactive media.
By the end of the course, learners will be able to design, assemble, and optimize custom visual effects using Unreal Engine’s powerful particle tools, aligning artistic vision with technical execution.
This module introduces learners to Unreal Engine’s Cascade particle system editor, covering the foundational tools and principles for designing dynamic particle effects. Through hands-on exploration of emitters, modules, and particle behaviors, learners will gain the skills to control attributes such as color, size, lifetime, velocity, and activation. By the end of this module, participants will be able to build and customize particle systems such as explosions, environmental effects, and game-ready visual components using Cascade’s modular interface.
