Democracy shapes the decisions that affect our communities and day-to-day lives, yet many people have misconceptions about how our system of government actually works. They will learn how elections, laws, and constitutions help shape government, give people a voice, and guide decision-making, and how democracies balance the will of the majority while protecting the rights of minority groups.
