This unit is a tack-on addition to the Data Analytics program. It's new, and currently skippable. I suggest you skip it, as it does not interface with the other material, provides mostly common-knowledge information about job searching, and is by-and-large a lengthy commercial for Gemini. This unit follows the "when you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail" approach and says, for each part of the job search, run it through AI for max benefits. While that might provide some good results for parts of your job search, it does NOT need its own unit, and feels unnecessary and unrelated to the rest of the content. Assignments are almost all "Did you use the AI? How did it go?" which provide minimal value, as well. Could stand on its own as a different offering, but should not be part of this certificate.

Coursera made me pay for the course even though it is not required for the Digital Marketing Certificate. I literally had to pay just to answer one question on this course "Do you plan on taking this course?" I said no and it gave me 100%. But I still had to pay.

I just completed the Coursera course "Accelerate Your Job Search with AI" and I cannot recommend it highly enough. If you're looking to find a new job, this course should absolutely be the first step you take before diving into your search. This course was a true game-changer for me. It significantly sped up my job search and made the entire process exponentially more effective. Before taking this course, I hadn't truly considered my "career identity," but the material here guided me through a process that helped me define it, which in turn completely reshaped and focused my job search efforts. The integration of AI tools throughout the curriculum was incredibly impactful. Learning how to leverage AI made me far more efficient in every step, from refining my resume to practicing for interviews with tools like Gemini live. The instructors were engaging and articulate, making even complex topics easy to digest (I even listened at 2x speed without missing a beat!). The course material itself is meticulously organized, building logically upon previous lessons, ensuring a deep and comprehensive understanding. Beyond the core curriculum, the course also introduced me to powerful new tools I hadn't encountered before, such as NotebookLM and Career Dreamer, which have already proven invaluable. Good information. Career Dreamer is currently only available in the US. I had to use a VPN to access Career Dreamer.

Forcing us to use AI really sucks in every way

I never even wanted to take this one, this thing being added to the certification without me even being asked just adds the huss and extra steps to get the actual certificate for the cource i just completed and offers me to pay for that again. Although, again, i already did that half a year ago and already completed that. This feels like a skam and adds the stress because now i am not sure if i did everything to finally get the certificate i paid for

Overall this course was a 5 on a scale from 1 - 5. I think it was key to follow the instructions to get the most out of the course, such as watching the video twice and taking notes. My way of taking notes was not just clicking on the notes feature, but to actually copy down notes by hand in my notebook, which came in handy for taking exams. Also before every exam or quiz I would chat with the chat bot before hand and this allowed me to find the most important concepts in my notes and become fluent before taking the exam. I would recommend that Google give instructions for saving the work by downloading the Activities after your done into a Word Doc and a PDF so that you can use them in your Google Site Portfolio. I think that this should be emphasized from the beginning of the course. I found that the exemplars were really helpful to tweak my Activities. The only downside to this course is that the time it takes to get the Certificate is not accurate at all. They claim that you can finish with a certificate in 3 - 6 months by only working on the course 10 hours per week. If you spend 20 - 30 hours a week you might finish before 6 months.
