I was particularly interested in the role of the board of directors in corporate governance. Also interesting were the lectures on governance in banking.

Develop a strong understanding of corporate governance systems in the United States and the United Kingdom and learn how governance principles support accountability, transparency, compliance, and effective risk oversight. This course examines the foundations of corporate governance, the roles of key stakeholders, board responsibilities, governance structures, and the regulatory environment that shapes corporate decision-making. You will begin by exploring the core concepts of corporate governance, the U.S. corporate governance framework, and notable governance failures that have influenced modern regulatory practices. You will then examine internationally recognized governance frameworks, including the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) principles, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), the Dodd-Frank Act, and the UK Corporate Governance Code. Designed for learners interested in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, financial institutions, and corporate accountability, this course enables you to analyze governance frameworks, compare U.S. and UK governance standards, evaluate board responsibilities and risk management expectations, and assess the impact of major governance legislation. By the end of the course, you will be prepared to critically evaluate governance practices and recommend approaches that strengthen transparency, ethical conduct, and board effectiveness across corporate environments.

The lecturer seems not to have depth understanding of the course, such that it wasn't engaging. It just feels she was reading from a book or a prepared slide. This is an important course, and I expect more effort in delivery of such content.
