The course was a solid introduction to R Markdown using the R language. It covers using the Tidyverse libraries for basic analysis and visualizations.

R is one of the most popular languages used in the data science community and essential for any aspiring data scientist. This specialization will teach you how to do data science in R whether you are a beginning or a seasoned programmer. You will begin this three-course specialization by reviewing the fundamentals of programming in R and the importance of creating reproducible research. Then, you will be introduced to the tidyverse where you will learn how to use R to import and tidy data, use the ggplot2 library to craft clear and insightful visualizations, and combine data from multiple sources. By completing this specialization, you will be prepared to begin or advance your data science journey using R. It is a prerequisite for students pursuing CU Boulder’s Master of Science in Data Science. The specialization logo was created using images of stickers from the RStudio shop. It is possible to get a basic understanding of R through this course, but requires a lot of reading on the part of the student. The short videos were very helpful to explain specific ideas; the course would have benefitted from more videos and walk-throughs of solutions to exercises in the text. Throughout the course, the student is asked to complete exercises in the text but there are no solutions offered in either the text or the video, except for a couple of times towards the end of the course. Seeing the coding solutions and examples are necessary as a learner. If you struggle with developing a code that works and don't have a live instructor to ask or email questions to, the student must rely on web searches to find coding solutions. If you are going to offer a course that has no live instruction or support, you need to provide more coding examples that can be referenced after the student tries on their own.
Confusing videos. Reference to broken links. The instructor frequently copy pasted the code and ran it before explaining what each part meant. I took 4 courses from UC and this one was definitely the most confusing one.
I like the peer reviews for the most part. I wish that the assignments submitted by fellow students would open into the online lab area instead of downloading. Many of the students submit screen shots are other potentially harmful files that I do not want to download and risk running on my computer. Although I'm careful with what I download, it still exposes my personal device to unnecessary risks.
This was a helpful course, and gives a good introduction to R. I do have two complaints. 1) The materials sometimes seem out of order and therefore the problem sets can be too difficult if you haven't gone to the next videos. 2) At this point its a bit outdated, but it is still functional. I enjoyed learning from this course!
This course offers a great platform for learners who are new to programming or leaners who want to improve their proficiency in R for statistical programming. It provides a simple yet comprehensive explanation of the most important concepts and practices in base R along with the Tidyverse packages
Helpful content! However, the sequence of practice questions and lecture contents are not fully aligned.

Very good course for first time R learners. Challenging but doable with some determination and attention to detail.
It was great to learn all this stuff together!
Good class. Well presented.
Not engaging. Relies to much on outside material and does not cover the basics in the course itself. Seems a little outdated.
