I have really hated the high emphasis on every last word of a sentence by the coach. It feels like a news reporter is reading news. The content is good but I have repeatedly lost concentration due to constant hammering in every sentence.
The course content itself was informative and well-organized. However, I struggled to stay engaged during the lectures due to the instructor's teaching style. She spoke in a dramatic, news anchor-like tone that placed heavy emphasis on the last word of every sentence. Her constant vocal inflections were distracting and caused me to lose focus repeatedly. I understand wanting to speak with energy to keep students' attention, but her over-the-top delivery was too much. The exaggerated emphasis she put on each point came across as unnatural and made it difficult for me to concentrate on the material itself. I actually experienced some palpitations while trying to tune out her vocal performance and focus on the content. Her teaching method seems better suited for a TV studio than a classroom. While the curriculum she covered was solid, her speaking style was a major weakness that significantly impacted my ability to learn. For future students, I would suggest trying to overlook the instructor's theatrics to gain value from the course itself. The content is there if you can get past the overly emphatic lecturing.
It was amazing experience learning something online and I'm sure I've learnt a lot in this course. great explanation and amazing course material. thanks

Very easy to understand for those who don't have much background knowledge in technology. Well-done!
It's overall a nice course for beginners with no prior knowledge of computers. but at some point i felt overwhelmed by the knowledge that was shared. i feel like it's a bit difficult to grab so many topics in one go but the course did an exceptional job by keeping in mind every aspect of the course.
This course provided a comprehensive overview of computer basics, hardware, operating systems, and cybersecurity threats. What impressed me the most was the relevance of the content to real-world scenarios. The instructors were exceptionally knowledgeable and passionate about the topics they covered, making the learning experience both enjoyable and enriching. I also appreciated the flexibility of the course, allowing me to study at my own pace while still providing ample opportunities for interaction with fellow learners through discussion forums and group activities. Overall, "Introduction to Computers and Operating Systems and Security" has equipped me with a solid foundation in cybersecurity fundamentals, and I feel more confident in my ability to tackle complex challenges in this field. I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to embark on a career in cybersecurity or enhance their existing knowledge in the field. Thank you to the instructors, the Coursera team, and Microsoft for offering such an exceptional learning experience.
Through this course, I've developed a solid foundation in the digital world, focusing on computers, operating systems, and cybersecurity. Overcoming challenges like understanding intricate security measures with the help of my peers has greatly enhanced my knowledge and transformed how I approach learning. This experience has not only sharpened my professional abilities but has also brought me together with other cybersecurity enthusiasts, creating a community dedicated to protecting digital environments. This course has had a transformative impact on my career, fostering an enduring passion for cybersecurity knowledge and alertness. I've valued the insightful exchanges with fellow students, which have expanded my understanding. I anticipate continuing our collaborative efforts in safeguarding the digital realm.
The course is stack with the fundamental knowledge about Computer Systems, Operating Systems, Cloud Computing , Cloud services, Machine Learning and the various aspects of Security and Vulnerabilities. I discovered and appreciate how each topic is presented in incremental bits and bytes which make a challenging topics easier to learn and comprehend overall this is an excellent entry level tool for the entrance into more advance cybersecurity learning and techniques cant wait to start the next course to increase my knowledge base so that I will be able to help others in the cybersecurity arena
Knowledge is presented in a way that allows learners to fully retain the information. I very much prefer this type of curriculum because I am able to learn as much as I want at my own pace without the fear of missing valuable pieces of information as you would if physically attending a class with a lot of students and set times for learning. This course was put together in an excellent way thank you for the opportunity to learn and advance my skills.
There should be an option to read the video sections instead of watching. I learn better by reading and not listening. I have my own pace in my mind that works better. Also there is some spelling mistakes and some of the final quiz answers seem to potentially have wrong answers. Like the one Patches add functionality to code. Should be true no?
This was a great refresher about foundational hardware and software knowledge! The speaker talks very fast, but she kept me on my toes (I had to rewind a few times to verify my notes). I highly recommend this for anyone looking to get into IT! I am a newbie, and am loving it! Excited to move to the next course: Networking!
Le doy al curso un **4**. Aprendí mucho sobre informática y seguridad, y la información era clara. Me gustó poder aprender a mi ritmo y tener recursos extra. Pero algunas partes de la seguridad eran difíciles y no había suficiente apoyo. En general, fue una buena forma de conocer la tecnología y la ciberseguridad.
This give a well rounded overview to the domain of cyber security with most basic components like what is a computer and progresses on to how a computer helps a business, and the it goes on to the domain of security with how a business can be effected by a computer and how to utilize safety features
One of the finest detailed courses i have ever attended, the course material quality and mode of presentation is simply superb !!! I have always been a Microsoft programmer and its always there for developers when they need support and enhance skills.
Microsoft's "Introduction to Computers and Operating Systems and Security" course on Coursera is outstanding. The course structure, engaging instructors, and flexible learning make it valuable. It is highly recommended for tech enthusiasts.
This course really is an introduction as it covers the very basic concepts of cybersecurity and computer systems. It is also easily absorbed by an absolute beginner and teaches an intermediate(like myself) one or two things. Great stuff!
It was a lot of information and I'm glad I took a lot of notes to help me to understand the tests in between. I just wish I wasn't a complete beginner, but everyone has to start somewhere! I'm glad I was able to have this opportunity!
