Quite challenging for a person that's changing careers but I am looking forward to more!

To navigate today’s complex and rapidly changing work environments, many organizations divide work into projects. Project management provides a structured approach to plan and manage projects in order to achieve on-time, within-budget, and scope as planned delivery. Compare and contrast predictive and adaptive project management models. Learn to avoid common causes of project failure. Investigate how to lead effective meetings and how motivating your team can lead to project success. Create essential documents required during the project initiation phase like the business case, project charter, project brief, stakeholder register, and stakeholder engagement plan. Prepare other project documents to help you scope a project and plan accurate project schedules and budgets. You will gain practical experience with hands-on labs. Upon completion, you will have a portfolio of widely used project initiation and planning assets to demonstrate your skills to potential employers. This course is set up to help you succeed as a project manager. It is well-suited for those looking to step up their careers or new graduates seeking to establish their project management careers. This course is part of series of courses intended to help you prepare for CAPM and PMP certification exam. RECOMMENDED: It is good for everyone gearing toward a career in Project Management to have basic to intermediate skills in an Office Productivity Suite, such as Microsoft Office 365. We highly recommend enrolling in the SkillUp EdTech Office Productivity Software Specialization, which covers Word Processing, Spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Messaging, and Email.

BW
Very good course for those interested in learning the fundamentals of Project planning and by extension project management.
LM
Great resources, great SME's providing insight. Quite a bit of hands-on experience on the labs, and that can become a time sink.
JD
There were some exam questions that didn't seem to go back to course material (I may have just missed it). Specifically concerning project backlog folders in agile models.
VG
It's a lot of information, and for me, as a newbie, some topics were difficult to understand. The course itself is well structured, with good information shared.
SK
Prof Yeomans' demos and instructions are very easy to understand and follow. The course is designed very well
SA
Good introduction to basics of Project management. As I am currently working on the same role, I could connect with it. Especially the 4th to 6 th modules were of high practical usage.
TA
Gives a good understanding in how to run effective projects and how to keep stakeholders engaged and accountable.
BF
That course was great foundation! I learned alot and did well in the final project and exam.
SM
The course was in detail and the lab exercise gave us the taste of working as a PM
SH
Overall course is very much interesting specially the work lab. But there is a room of improvement if the course can be pattern on a sequnece of step.
RB
One of my favourite courses, to be honest. I'd 100% recommend doing the labs (although you could technically skip them), you will learn a lot!

First - The agile section of this specialization is great. But the rest of it is torturous. There are no notes or handouts, there are no links to relevant articles. The 'lectures' are mostly AI, there are very few visual aids, and the exam questions are rarely relevant to becoming a good PM. But perhaps the biggest sin? While the course purports to be from IBM, you get a certificate of completion from "SkillUp". Who? This is the worst PM class I have taken on Coursea - I would suggest you consider one of the many other options available.
Excellent course. The instructors are very motivating and knowledgeable. I really appreciate their professional, hands-on perspective on the topics covered, which they share throughout the sessions.
The Final Project is extremely long, then you have to wait for peer grading and then do 2 grading yourself. It should be broken up into parts, . I did 4 reviews, Also Office 360 is not free this should have been stated as a requirement for some projects. Why not have an ability to do the project the skill up directly

Excellent!
When doing the practice labs, it would be helpful to have the answer examples match the scenarios so that we can see if we're on the right track with what we're doing. There were a couple of times where the solutions didn't match the scenario and while the example of "what goes where" is helpful once you've grasped the concepts, having the best-case solution to compare our attempt to really helps put the pieces in place. I'm very concerned about the peer review part. I'm not sure if my work is actually ok or if the reviewers are just checking boxes to get through the required two they have to review. My first reviewer was way off, answering NO to questions that were clearly a YES. (Such as "Did they include the project manager name and sponsor name") Thank you
The course is excellent, especially if you approach it seriously and supplement it with online research. However, I would improve the course by diving deeper into certain topics and providing clearer explanations for some terms that are only briefly mentioned but are equally important.

Good course. Covers the fundamentals and will certainly provide you with the basics needed to tackle a project or a mission from a macro perspective up to a micro perspective.

Useful information, video tutorial help, practical application was useful but my one of the peer evaluations I conducted was for a foreign language.
As the whole IBM Certificate started very good. The rest of the course with AI voice is clearly bad quality and hard to stay focused on
You should be ashamed for this product. Where is the real case studies to help learners connect the concepts? It's a waste of time to show testimonials.
The course provides a solid foundation in project management principles, covering key phases from initiation to planning. I found the sections on defining scope, developing a project charter, and stakeholder analysis particularly helpful. The practical examples and templates made it easier to apply concepts in real-world scenarios. Overall, it’s a valuable resource for anyone looking to strengthen project management skills.
Wonderful course with practical knowledge and skills that helps everyone in their goals. Hands-on Lab is a powerful tool where we can practice what we have learned. Quizzes help us shake our minds and choose answers. The Subject Matter Expert is really helpful throughout the course. Thank you Coursera for providing us such a wonderful course.
This course is undoubtedly a great incentive and a new tool that allows to have a clearer vision and strategies when facing project planning. The didactics and study materials are exhaustive and allow to achieve the objectives of the course and to improve continuously, learning from mistakes. In short, a very complete course.
It has been wonderful while taking this module. I learned a lot from the various tutors who took the time to put this training together. The resources, approach, and methodology used to present this module were awesome. Great to be part of the learning environment.
Coursera offers a variety of project management courses, including those focusing on project initiation and planning. These courses provide valuable insights and practical knowledge for individuals looking to enhance their project management skills.
Very thorough, I felt like I learned a lot. I really enjoyed the final project, it was really practical. I'd have appreciated to have a chatbot active for any content-related questions though, maybe something it could be implemented in the future?
