Great introduction to front end development using tools that are best suited for a modern web application. Highly recommended for someone interested in starting to develop a web application.
I have tried Javascript a couple of times but this is the first time that i was able to make it work. Thank you for the nice explainations for me it became a little bit easier to understand.
I have been using git and GitHub for many years, but I was still learning from this course. I would have enjoyed this course years ago, when I started out with Version Control!
The teachers were so marvelous and explanations were done to perfection. I enjoyed this course and I will recommend anyone who is interested in web development to take this course.
good review of the basics in react. hands-on practices need work. some lectures (context API and ref hooks for example) barely explain the topic but the video says "In this video, we LEARNT ..."
The last lab didn't run in the lab space nor locally. I had to rebuild it with create react app to match the setup. Nice test, but I am not sure if this blocker would be helpful other students.
This short course is great and cover all major concepts of UX/UI design. I found this course really helpful to start my career as UX Designer.
Working on the project was worth the time, relearning what I know for better knowledge.

Introduction to Front-End Development is the right course to kick start a career in Web Development. It is loaded with all-round, valuable information needed to delve into the world of technology.
Overall its a wonderful experience, and its a good way to begin as a javascript developer, I after this you have to build on your knowledge, and nourish you javascript skill.
Congratulation to the Meta Staff family you all did a good job at teaching me this course. I must say for a newbie I have had no challenge in learning from you all.

Very insightful. this is my first time learning computer programming and it was quite informative. i would suggest more questions are added per video followed by demonstrative examples in each video.
As other reviewers have said, the spoken content does not keep pace with the text on the slides which makes for an unsatisfactory experience. Assignment 2 (CSS) was wrongly coded and it took moderators a few days to look at comments from users and finally correct the scoring algorithm. The main problem with this course is though, by far, the breakneck pace with which the instructor (otherwise lovely in every way) is forced to go through the material, without stopping to explain the logic behind a coding convention or its practical applications. For CSS, not a single concrete example is given and the very first one such is encountered during the assignment ( no wonder the vast majorty of learnerns failed it, according to Coursera). There are far better courses on these topics out there (UMich on this platform, all their courses are great, or the WEB3 Consortium's tutorials which are all very well taught- and free!). Sad to say, but I would not recommend this course to anyone - it needs vast improvements if it is to be of any value for someone who actually wants to learn these topics.
I t is not beginner friendly. It is too fast. I know this is jsut the introduction, but for a beginner who learns it for the first time it is too much. I will not finish this certification even before i begin. Other certifications like W3 School are more user friendly. Please concider the way you are teaching. Espeacially the first course should not be overwhelming from the beginning, since people try it for free and make their decisions based on their experience.
Some lab tests are failing because silly things like the ones from the week2 about css in the page styling process are failing because of the css property ordering suggested in the assignment, in the practice we know css properties order doesnt really matter much if we are not overwritting the property. So please take a look at your test cases and check that.
Honestly, pretty solid course. A lot of people were saying this course isn't for beginners but I would strongly disagree. I think the difficulty is FAIR, and really gets your brain thinking logically.
Extremely basic stuff. The "course" served more like an overview of what you need to learn than a real course. They covered very basic HTML, very basic CSS, some Bootstrap and skipped over JavaScript straight to React, where they only broadly defined components and the virtual DOM. The labs offer 100% handholding which I personally dislike, and are very laggy. The quizes were pretty straightforward and don't offer much learning value compared to a more practical approach like a project, which there was none.
Conclusion: I got zero value out of it, but I can see it being somewhat useful for a complete beginner, I just think there are better already existing resources out there for that.
Pros: good for a confused beginner to get an overview of the things he needs to learn to become a junior front-end web developer.
Cons: labs were way too easy, simplistic, rudimentary, laggy, and straight up offered the solutions instead of only providing the things you need to do, and only after to get the possibility to check what you've done. There was also no project, we didn't build anything.
Gave it 2 stars because I appreciated the attempt from Meta, but they need to work harder if they want to make a course / specialization worth more than the paper it's printed on. See you in the next one.
Just finished the full course and received my professional certificate and I am very grateful to Meta and Coursera for providing it. If you are about to start: 1. TAKE NOTES. I have 4 notebooks full of notes from all of the information. Make cheat sheet type documents in VS Code where you can list out different concepts with examples. 2. There will be moments where you feel lost. Ask Chat GPT for help, visit Stack Overflow, LTT forums, use YouTube. Do your own research. 3. Trust the process. There will be times when you feel that they went too quickly on one subject or another. They will come back to it, I promise. 4. Practice, practice, practice. The course is a lot of theory. It's up to you to put the learning into action. 5. Save your very first website and compare it to the one you complete for the final project. It will make for a good laugh. Good luck!
This is a very well structured and well informed course if you are absolutely new to web development..Covers every basics and also advnace later on..The learning path is very well designed by meta.
The example given in each video was very helpful in understanding how things work on the internet.
Overall experience was great as it was basically about basics and introduction to web development.

Fantastic introduction into HTML/CSS. Provides the skills to recognize different components when looking at web source code, and is a great foundation for the next steps in learning web development.
Before starting this course I had 0 experience on frontend. I think this course is more like a starting point, it gives you all you need in order to continue your studies of this fantastic field.

This is a credential that will cause employers to take an extra look when submitting a job application.
I mean, Reach which is being taught in paid bootcamps and courses for several thousands dollars by hundreds of professional developers was created by... Meta!

I liked that it's not boring and deal with an individual on above average level. A lot of concepts were covered and were clear, with advancing in the certificate it will be more clear.
Very good for a beginner... The instructor is very clear and concise. Also, even as one who is a bit experienced, some concepts were better explained here for my understanding.
One of the strong point of this course is the voice of the speaker is so clear, even with the non-native english speaker can understand almost 100 % of the content good job.
This course will give you everything you need to start learning about front-end development. You will get a glimpse of all the basic but core concepts.
