The course covers a great span of ancient Egyptian history beginning from 5500 BC till 4th century CE, thus including predynastic, proto-dynastic periods; Old, Middle, New Kingdom, and also Intermediate, and late periods. There were also sections devoted to Tutankhamun's tomb, and the early Christian communities of Late Antiquity. I appreciated a lot the professor's clear and lucid style. The course was enriched by not only focusing on political history, but culture, architecture, religion, art, and philosophy. Such a great course to broaden one's horizons about Ancient Egyptian civilization!

I am truly inspired by the incredible course and content! Professor Buzi and Sapienza University of Rome offer a comprehensive overview that contextualizes Egypt's history in a way that honors its dynastic periods. Sadly, many Egytology courses, some produced in the USA, as well as some courses that are currently produced in Egypt by present day Egyptians tend to erase the black ruled dynasties and imagery out of the picture. This course is so valuable that I am already looking forward to revisiting it in the future to refresh my knowledge and continue to be motivated by its teachings.

This course moves along at a fast pace yet covers in much detail the main points and figures where this knowledge came from. I found it very informative and quite inclusive.

The course is for beginners and gives a very superficial view of Egypt.

It seriously suffers from a lack of text of what was heard on video. There is no .txt in any language. I think that in 2023 a course like

this should not appear in Cursera if it does not have the text of the audios.

The intensity has caught my attention, which does lend to Coptic. It is a vision that I had not appreciated in any other course.

Everything is wonderful and interesting. The only thing that would be good to change is the speed with which the lecturer speaks (it can be a problem for complete beginners) and that the information is sufficiently compressed. All these things can be discussed in more detail. But overall, I'm happy with what I got.

clear lectures, describing nicely the history ( of course in short) of Egypt. I think that clear time tables will improve the student ability to get a better time line. There were tables but they stayed on the screen for very short time. I like the course

This is an excellent course which provides an extremely succinct framework of Egyptian history. It is full of pertinent facts and for my part I now want to take more courses on the subject. The professor is excelentisima.
