Started off really well, and had useful copyable commands. However the interaction between the Google learning environment and the cloud SQL was not good and the explanation of how to transition between these different apps was not clear, meaning I had to redo some parts of the work several times. The navigation to the Cloud SQL part appeared to been updated as it did not work as written

Also, it is not "self-paced", once you start the project you have just over an hour to complete it with a timer that is counting down while you are doing the activities.

keep on saying that i violated something even though i am just following thier commands they provide. crappy instructions, waste of time and money.

This course is very introductory and basic. It's really good to get a gist and some hands-on on real SQL action - especially if you have never dealt with SQL before, like me. But since it's really fast (it takes 1h15minutes, albeit should be a little more), this course should be a stepping-stone for you to really dive into SQL. Taking just this course is not enough to learn and understand SQL, but it's a good way to start.

Challenging project for beginners. I'd highly recommend to anyone to take this challenge after having some experience of SQL; for example, after taking some courses in the Google Data Analytics certificate. Along the project one (re)learns the basics of SQL in the context of the cloud.

"gcloud sql connect qwiklabs-demo --user=root"

Above gave error, hence, had to used folllowing:

"gcloud auth login --no-launch-browser"

From that command, then obtain the authen code to authorize it, finally able to completed the last exercise in MYSQL.
