As an introductory course it is ok, but it's based on Cursor 1.x. Cursor 2.x was released in October 2025 and several of the features in this course are outdated. E.g., @Web is deprecated.

This required more familiarity with coding and is not a beginner course. Sample work wasn't included to use within the cursor tool, assumption was made that the student had stock piled files to utilized. Also cursor ai is now only offering a one week trial, not two

It should be titled Introduction to Cursor AI. It basically covers the basics of Cursor AI, which in my case I was already familiar with.

Good course but for beginners.

This is not really a course. It's almost like an introduction video of the Cursor platform. I don't think I walked away from this course really knowing how to vibe code. The graded assignments are a joke. They are practically just fillers. Overall, the course was poorly planned. It's also hard to understand the instructor's accents at times.

It's an ok walk through of cursor.ai which I wouldn't have thought to do myself. The tests and the content don't match up. The introduction to MCP is informative but the narration is poorly structured and it's ultimately pointless to create the examples. There are some learnings to be had, but don't get your hopes up.

Good but extremely short and superficial

This is the first course in the "Vibe Coding Essentials - Build Apps with AI" specialisation, marketed at beginners who want to build apps using AI tools without prior coding experience. The course assumes a significant amount of prior knowledge that is never disclosed upfront. There is no explanation of what Cursor is, how it works, or where it fits in the broader tech landscape. More critically, the course assumes you already have Node.js and npm installed — tools that are essential to run any of the projects — without ever mentioning them as prerequisites. Beginners will hit a wall immediately and have no idea why. Other concepts like file structures, terminals, and developer environments are either glossed over or skipped entirely. The instructor's setup already had everything configured, so errors that real beginners encounter never appear in the videos. If you have some prior technical exposure this course may work for you. If you are a true beginner with no developer environment set up, don't waste your time.

Waste of time, all of the material covered in this course is obvious to users after a couple tries in Cursor. This course can be completed in <30mins and the quizzes are so plainfully obvious it hurts.

Requires a GPT5 subscription? Way too confusing. AI won't answer even basic questions without a paid subscription... no thanks.
