While the content has great potential, the videos were sometimes out of order, with the "introduction to the material" as video 2 or 3 after the presenter has already begun discussing the material. Additionally, there are multiple times within the videos when the presenter says "cut" and starts over again. I can only assume those sections were meant to be removed from the video, but they were left in and made learning the material very distracting.
Content was there, but mostly it's slides being read, so there is an audio component. Very oftten the instructor said "CUT" but didn't actually cut the audio. Sometimes slides from one session appeard in the next and sometimes the audio didn't match the slide. Will help to reinforce learning but was not very innovative.
Some typos in course material. Seems like instructor was just reading a script. He also made frequent mistakes in some chapters where he said "cut" and then apparently neglected to actually edit it before publishing. Content seemed overly simplified for SHRM CP.
A lot of the videos and slides were disjointed and didn't make sense when viewing in order. A lot of jumping around. There are also some spelling and grammatical errors.
The transcripts weren't great, said "cut" a lot, as if they should have been edited out. Feel as though they could have gone more in depth on a lot of the principles.
It was a good foundation, but the order of the videos sometimes seemed a bit off.
This course needs to be redone, this time with an editor. The narrator reads off a page without inflection, and there are often long pauses as he goes from one section to another - long enough that I checked if the video was still playing. What he’s reading off and what comes up on the screen is not always the same, which can make the changes of topics more confusing. But worst is the sheer lack of editing. The mic wavering in and out, stumbling and misspoken words, even the narrator saying “cut!” To edit a part out later - it’s all left in the video narration. The text below is a word for word AI transcript that didn’t get looked over, so all the same mistakes and the AI’s best guess to what the narrator meant are left in the transcripts. I don’t know who approved this rough draft of a course, but it needs to be removed and redone.
I would not recommended this course!!! some of the info was out of order, the reading parts would say that thats what were learning after we already "learned it" so it wasnt a summary in simple terms. ALSO the practice test were not legit. they would ask me questions that I DID NOT learn and then I would go to the next module and then learn the stuff one the practice test. ALSO no disrespect but it was very hard to understand the professor. he spoke in a VERY thick accent. I just had to read the script the whole time!! overall I wouldn't do it.
overall provides a decent overview however there needs to be more improvement to the actual videos - slides are out of sync with what is being said, the speaker is is heard to be talking to people in the background, the speaker is heard saying "cut" multiple times. Just seems like a poorly put together training especially for others to listen to. I would have expected alot more.
I found this course dry as a peanut butter sandwich. The presenter was boring and unenthusiastic. In the recording, there was a lot of background noise that distracted from the presentation. He was basically just reading off the slides...no emotion in it. I found the only purpose of this was to give me some practice questions for when I take the SHRM-CP test.
While the materials were all present. Taking notes required frequent adjustments to the transcript due to incorrect English words which dramatically altered the meaning. Also, the audio used during the course materials often felt like raw versions including a lot of "cut" and abrupt stops to rephrase material.
Most videos start half way through the lecture, sometimes in the middle of sentences. Is also the least entertaining course I have taken so far.
