I have learned how to detect and characterize exoplanets. I had some difficulty understanding some words because of the accents but it does not keep me from understanding the lecture and material.
In this MOOC, you will have the opportunity to practice several methods of detection and characterisation of exoplanets.
You will discover their statistical properties and the current state of knowledge we have in this very recent field of research. You will also understand the limitations and biases of the different detection techniques. At the end of this MOOC, you will have a good general understanding of the methods of detection and characterisation of exoplanets and their atmosphere. You will also have a basic understanding of spectroscopy and light curve analysis. All this knowledge will help you to participate in and understand citizen science projects. The original version of the MOOC dates from 2014 and some of the content has been updated in 2020 to take into account the progress of research in the field.

All you need to know about exoplanet science, intermediate course though needs a substantial background in mathematics
Enjoyable course even although some of the formulae went a bit above my head! Only factor that spoiled it, and this is a continuing issue with all Coursera courses I've done, is the very bad transcripts you get, what use is getting [FOREIGN], {INAUDIBLE] or [UNKNOWN] in the transcript?
This was an excellent course. The format and content were spot on and the class was very interesting which kept me coming back for more. All the instructors did a great job. Can't wait for the next update based on all the new instruments coming on line and data from the James Webb space telescope.
Excellent course! A very good balance among concepts, equations and examples. It has some updates made in 2019 (I guess). Who knows there will be more updates after analyses of the data from James Weeb Telescope.

The course is presented in a wonderful way, super organized and very good looking, some arguments are pretty tough, but if ur interested in this branch u r gonna love this course.

Maybe a bit too difficult at times and could use another update due to ongoing developments in the field, but still — great!

Très très interessant voire même passionant
excellent programme
excelent
The explanation is excellent. The only drawback is that the mateial is 10 years old and the science of the exoplanets evolves rapidly.
