A good course giving strong foundation in Generative Engine Optimization and provides good understanding of the topic.

The Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) Specialization helps you master the skills needed to make AI-generated content visible, credible, and discoverable across generative search engines. As search continues to evolve from keywords to conversations, GEO introduces a future-ready framework that blends traditional SEO strategy with AI-driven optimization. You will learn how to build content that earns visibility and trust within generative engines and conversational AI platforms. Throughout the three courses, you will gain a deep understanding of GEO fundamentals, E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness) frameworks, and practical AI content workflows. You will explore how to use tools to create optimized content that ranks well in AI-driven environments. The program also guides you through the process of measuring GEO signals, developing content roadmaps, and applying optimization techniques that enhance brand authority and digital performance. By the end of this Specialization, you will be able to plan and execute a GEO strategy that integrates human creativity with AI efficiency. You will understand how to build content ecosystems that increase visibility, improve trust, and maintain strong digital authority in the age of AI-powered search.

Good Start to learn about GEO
content is good and knowledge check along the way. Videos could use some improvement especially the vocals as they are chopped up roughly and cut off. The simulation was not well thought out and directions were unclear. Overall a good introduction to GEO and for marketers to use in updating practices and working with their web teams.
This seems to be an entirely AI-generated slop course – conceptualised by AI, built by AI, and even narrated by AI – even though the voice seems to be modelled after a real person. You can tell that the institution that created this course does not only has NEVER for themselves worked with GEO in practice but is only able to present the theory of it. As someone who has worked with GEO in practice for several months, the information was sometimes inaccurate and sometimes useless. The person teaching the course (you can see her name in the screenrecordings, I googled her) has no track record or expertise in the topic, and it painfully shows. What an absolute shame for Coursera to even allow these courses to be part of their catalogue.
