Reviewed Sep 19, 2026I've taken many courses on Coursera and came to this one with a background in data and AI. The main thing I'd flag is that the course moves between two quite different subjects without signalling it: compliance *of* AI systems, and using AI tools *for* compliance work more generally. Both are worth covering, but I spent a while unsure which one I was being discussed. Relatedly, several lessons describe "automating" a process, where what's demonstrated is prompting ChatGPT to produce a checklist or an outline. A useful thing, but a different one. One example where both issues met: a quiz treats connecting an AI tool to internal data sources as an essential first step. Coming from a compliance mindset, that's close to the last step I'd take: the deployment of the tool is itself part of the compliance question. I'd also have liked more grounding for the terminology. A lot of technical and data concepts are named rather than worked through, and clearer examples and connections to real business situations would have made the material land better. I appreciate the effort behind a course like this, and for a legal audience new to AI there's a reasonable orientation here. For anyone arriving with a technical background, I'd set expectations accordingly.
