Another great course from Akamai and beautifully delivered by Shadow Farrell. This course covers the OSI and the TCP/IP models, CSMA/CD vs CSMA/CA, CIDR notation, ANDing, IP addressing scheme. Also configuring DHCP and DNS servers and configuring VPN's, routers, NAT routers, wireless AP, etc. and much more. Of course, besides the theory, there are plenty of quizzes, labs and assignments. What I most enjoyed in this course was (1) the ability to being able to use the CISCO Packet Tracer. It is an excellent tool for practicing the concepts mentioned in the previous paragraph. And (2) the capstone project. It was very beneficial and tremendously fun. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend Networking Fundamentals, even if the end goal is not taking CompTIA Network+, or any related cert. Networking plays a crucial role in cybersecurity.

Overall a very good, beginner friendly course. I can only compare it to Cisco's CCNA; compared to it, this course offers a bit more in the aspects of security, while not delving deeper in some other, more technical aspects. Still, this course is perfect for beginners and for those who want to refresh their memory/skills.

This was one of the best courses I ever had around Networking. Great instructor, great exercises, great course material and review questions. The final peer review assignment was also awesome where you could take all you learned form the previous modules to put it into practise.
