The Capstone was a bit of an anticlimax. I was expecting a very challenging Capstone, but found a "follow the instructions" approach which made it seem too simple. I'm not complaining ;-)
Showcase your skills in this Data Engineering project! In this course you will apply a variety of data engineering skills and techniques you have learned as part of the previous courses in the IBM Data Engineering Professional Certificate.
You will demonstrate your knowledge of Data Engineering by assuming the role of a Junior Data Engineer who has recently joined an organization and be presented with a real-world use case that requires architecting and implementing a data analytics platform. In this Capstone project you will complete numerous hands-on labs. You will create and query data repositories using relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL and MongoDB. You’ll also design and populate a data warehouse using PostgreSQL and IBM Db2 and write queries to perform Cube and Rollup operations. You will generate reports from the data in the data warehouse and build a dashboard using Cognos Analytics. You will also show your proficiency in Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes by creating data pipelines for moving data from different repositories. You will perform big data analytics using Apache Spark to make predictions with the help of a machine learning model. This course is the final course in the IBM Data Engineering Professional Certificate. It is recommended that you complete all the previous courses in this Professional Certificate before starting this course.

I enjoyed having to go back and revise the other courses in the specialization. I had forgotten how interesting they were.

While there are valuable opportunities for hands-on experience provided for this course, I suspect there could be way more substance if more time and thoughtfulness were put into this course design. You will spend more time navigating linux errors than the actual central content. Navigating these type errors does provide valuable experience for a beginner in the teach field. I give a nod to that without releasing my conviction stated above concerning my personal assessment of the course.
Good but, please give me the badge. Thank u
I recently completed the IBM Data Engineering Professional Certificate on Coursera, and I must say it's been an outstanding learning experience! The courses were well-structured, providing a comprehensive understanding of data engineering concepts and tools. The hands-on labs and real-world projects were incredibly valuable in applying what I learned. I feel well-equipped to tackle data engineering challenges in the industry. A big shout out to the instructors, IBM, and Coursera for this exceptional program!

The instructions are very unclear and a lot of things are not working - like access to pgadmin and fileupload. Why not create a whole project from start to finish where the user has to keep on working on the same dataset? From extraction to ML-Model with Spark - I would have enjoyed something like this a lot more!
This was absolutely fantastic capstone project to complete at the end of IBM Data Engineering Professional Certificate course. loved it. Instructions were very helpful. Glad that I completed the entire 13 courses in 2.5 months period.
It forms a common scenario, and allows one to practice most technologies, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Spark, BI tools, etc learned from the Data Engineering courses.
