AL
Essential understanding of psychology and neuroscience, on how the mind or brain works, and how scientists use imaging and behaviour to study it.

This Specialization offers an introduction to key concepts in cognitive psychology and neuropsychology, including memory, attention, emotion, and decision-making. Learners will explore how brain functions relate to behaviour and how these insights can be applied in educational and real-world contexts. By the end, participants will be equipped to understand and support learning, emotional recognition, and decision processes.

The course was very helpful. What would need to improve however is the quality of the audio recordings and how the the lessons are splited and connected in a more organized way

Feedback and Reflections on "Introduction to Cognitive Psychology and Neuropsychology" This course has been both enlightening and challenging. It provided an excellent foundation in understanding the key concepts of cognitive psychology and neuropsychology. The material covered a broad range of topics, from the workings of attention and memory to the intricate details of brain function and neuropsychological disorders. The most impactful aspect of the course for me was learning about how the brain processes information. The connection between cognitive processes and neurological underpinnings was thoroughly explained, and I now have a deeper appreciation for how brain damage or dysfunction can alter perception, behavior, and cognitive abilities. The case studies and real-life examples brought the theoretical concepts to life, particularly the sections on brain injury and how neuropsychologists assess and treat these conditions. I also found the discussions on attention, perception, and memory fascinating. It was eye-opening to understand how selective attention works and how it can affect what we perceive in our daily lives. The material on cognitive biases and memory distortions was thought-provoking and really made me think about my own thought processes. The course content was well-structured and the lectures were clear, but the challenging part for me was grasping the more technical aspects of neuroimaging and neuropsychological assessments. While it took some time to fully understand, I appreciate how the course encouraged critical thinking and reflection on the complexity of the human brain. Overall, I am grateful for the opportunity to explore these fascinating topics. The knowledge I have gained has not only enhanced my understanding of psychology but also made me more aware of the role of neuroscience in shaping human behavior. I look forward to applying these insights in my future studies and professional life.

As an introductory course, the lecture content after the prefrontal part is too specific, and the style of the lecture is too research presentation-like. Course 1 of this series is a more normal, regular introductory course.
the content is great but the instructor is too slow and her tone makes the content sound a bit dull
An excellent introduction that's both rigorous and genuinely approachable. What stood out most to me was the balance. Rather than pushing a single view, the instructor framed each debate as an interaction between nature and nurture, the innate and the learned, which made the material feel honest and alive. Her calm, measured delivery lowered the intimidation factor of otherwise dense topics like emergence, consciousness and neuropsychological cases, and gave each idea room to land. I especially valued the use of real research and vivid clinical cases such as patient KF, hemispatial neglect and blindsight, paired with hands-on activities like the Stroop test that let you feel the concepts rather than just read them. I came in curious and leave genuinely equipped to think about the mind. Warmly recommended, and thank you for a thoughtful, well-crafted course.
It gave me a basic understanding of how the brain works and why hearing, vision, attention, and consciousness shape our world.

I answered Test 1 in Module 1 4 times and now I ust became aware that the questions for M1 are really related to M2, and that's why my answers were not right so many times. Besides this, the modules are incorrectely labeled. Please pay attention to this because it affects the learning process.
