Great course material and assignments, definitely worth the time and effort
- Suggestions for learners: This course requires high-level of self-discipline and it is important for us to really invest time to go through all the suggested reading and video materials to maximize what we learn from the course.
- Course materials: The reading materials of the course are adequate for learners to have a general idea about different aspects in urban planning, such as tactic experimentation, urban activism, and bureaucratic hurdles. It is also a nice arrangement to include talks with the authors of the papers. However, I would suggest to update some of the materials so they don't focus on COVID measures, in order to make them more applicable beyond that given unusual period. It is also suggested to add Q&A session between course moderators and learners to enhance our "classroom" experience.
- Peer review: Firstly, some assignments I reviewed have an attachment totally irrelevant to the course. Therefore, it would be necessary to filter this kind of failed assignments first to ensure fairness. Secondly, I would suggest to set a minimum word count, for example 50 words, for the peer-review questions so that evaluators give enough comments to support their rating and help the learners improve.
All in all, I would recommend this course to urban planning beginners to gain a basic idea in the field and to understand what self-organised actions we can take that may bring instant change to our neighborhood.
