This powerful specialisation from the University of London and IBM gives you the perfect academic and industry-informed practical introduction to data science. You get: - Progress transfer for the University of London’s BSc in Computer Science - The foundational skills and knowledge you need to get a job in a data-rich environment. During this specialisation, you’ll be introduced to data science, statistics, programming, computational thinking, machine learning, and more. You’ll discover the role of data science in today’s data-driven world. Plus, you’ll get hands-on using IBM’s data science tools, giving you practical experience to talk about in interviews. Half the teaching is provided by Goldsmiths, University of London, giving you a strong academic foundation. The other half, designed by IBM, provides real-world professional insight supported by practical projects and a capstone project for your resume. AB
This is a great course for anyone willing to start exploring the field of Data Science. It starts with basic definitions with proper examples that helps one understand this field with a greater ease!
RG
It's a good introductory course to know all the open-source tools available for data science. However, it will not teach you how to code for these tools apart from introducing a few basic lines.
PK
it was an awesome course to start your journey in data science. Fundamentals concepts are covered in a lucid way. Nicely designed lab work. Some more hands on will help to get a better coding skills.
TM
The assignment is quite easy, you just need to understand the code and rewrite the code to finish the final assignmentThis is a very useful course to help us imagin basically what a DS do
JM
I learned a lot but that might not be a good indicator as I didn't know much about Data Science in the first place. It just fueled my need to know more about the subject so on my side, it's a winner.
FC
It would be nice if you could update the material since some tools have changed either name or the way they look compared to the videos/images. Very good material though, I enjoyed the course much.
EP
This course was really helpful in make me understand all the topics of Python from scratch, including the slightly advanced topics, of APIs, for my level as a freshman just getting settled in college.
CH
I enjoyed this class. It has less lecture and more figuring things out. It was not in my original certificate program, and I decided to go upgrade and pick it up. Glad I did.
XM
I liked this course very much. The way it is organised to collect different data scientists opinions about the same topic, make it very valuable to the ones who are starting the road to Data Science.
MA
The course is overwhelming for a beginner with no experiecne of programming. The examples given in the class seem difficult and should have been of a lower difficulty level to keep the hopes high.
SM
Great Course work just more needs to be explained. I searched a lot to find more information as a beginner. But a great introduction will recommend it if you're starting out without any experience.

Overall, it's a good course that provides valuable insights. However, the sections on algorithms and K-clusters are poorly structured. An introductory course on data science should clearly explain the subject area and cover data science methodology - what does data science cosstt of? -, detailing how data scientists perform their work, skills that are relevant etc. Unfortunately, this course lacks a proper introduction to the discipline and is not well-organized pedagogically.
Good for beginers to understand the datascience
I really enjoyed this class, great start

It was a generally good course. However, the videos are mislabelled. I would have rated it higher if the videos were aligned to the titles.
