Highly engaging course -- perhaps the best one I've had so far here on Coursera. It felt like I was literally in a lecture hall. The style of delivery was super interactive and plays around the idea of a traditional board + podium/platform where a teacher conducts her lesson. Content-wise, everything was so organized as well. I love how it was structured -- they were really "visual aids" and not scripts or handouts. The complementary reading materials from John's blog was also very helpful (especially for those of you who learns by reading). Last but certainly not least -- John Kim is an awesome professor. He is a great communicator and can command the room because he clearly knows what he's saying and you can sense his passion for it and for teaching others how to do it. Side note: I want to be a Management Consultant but my long-term big dream is to be a Professor myself. John is such an inspiration of the kind of Professor I'd like to be! Lastly, I'd like to share that this course arrived at a perfect time in my life where I'm contemplating if I should take Management Consulting for my masters degree. I chanced upon it by searching for it, hoping I'd have a more informed decision, and this course delivered. I even finished it in 2-3 days. Thanks so much for the great experience!

The instructor is dynamic, clear, and fun. He provides many concrete examples and a wealth of tools that can be used in consulting. I'm very much motived to continue with this specialisation!

Professor Kim is excellent. Highly recommend. Makes me wish I was on assignment at a client site with him for an actual consulting engagement. Professor Kim makes this course relevant for nearly anyone. He took the time to include perspectives for New Graduates (Green Caps), Internal Consultants (Blue Ladders) and Solo Consultants (Red Airplanes). Throughout the course he provides take-aways and breaks them down for each of these three audiences. He also speaks to consulting from the standpoint of Head, Heart and Hands. Hi passion for the consulting profession is very evident. Be sure to browse his blog and definitely read the book he recommends in the course. It is highly complimentary content to the class. A+ (How much did I like this course? I increased the playback speed 2x, finished the whole specialization in one weekend and started applying some of the skills from the class the following week.)

Mr John Kim is a very thoughtful lecturer who puts a lot of thought into how he presents the material. His lessons or the videos and powerpoint slides that were utilized during the taught lessons and modules were indeed engaging and very insightful, and his presentations were done in such a way it was always encouraging to his audience and students to state the least. It's an amazing course. I have recently joined the Management Consulting team in Novartis. Having a "pure consultancy" job is relatively new in my career. Before this course, I was a bit scared of being completely clueless of what is going around me being a new joiner to this field, but this course boosted my confidence that it's to a certain extent close to what I used to do during my whole sales career. I have learned so many skills during my sales journey whether from sales courses or mainly from customer interactions and day to day business which are very similar to the skills needed in consultancy. Eventually, the salesperson and the consultant need to understand their clients' needs and provide them with the solutions that best meet their expectations.

On another note, I loved the way the instructor transferred the information knowing that the audience of this course might be fresh grads and experienced professionals. The language was pretty easy to digest. Moreover, the presentation skills John imposed are super professional and efficient. The pauses he was doing to re-attract attention were brilliant.

Thank you John and I'm super happy in the first place that this course gave me a great deal of confidence that I can excel in the consultancy field and hopefully will succeed in my next projects.

It is evident that whatever is being shared in this course say in few hours is actually the knowledge one can acquire on their own through years of experience , digging and deep-diving. Honestly, the best course I have taken on Coursera so far. Short, sweet and concise, Lecturer John Kim really pulled me into the world of management consulting. I'm not one to write reviews but the fact that I had started this course with the intention of just getting to know the introduction to management consulting, but staying for the other parts of the specialisation shows how intriguing this course is. Thank you for putting this course out there!

I found this introductory course to be very helpful. I have a better understanding of what a consultant does, why they are important, why it's a great job, and skills a consultant needs, especially as a person who conducts interviews with their clients. Novel and helpful idea was the use of the three colored icons representing the three types of people who practice consulting: new graduates, internal company managers, and solo entrepreneurs.

This introductory Management Consulting course was extremely enlightening. The delivery methods of the teachings were easy to understand and the links to the blogs, discussions and related podcasts and articles were equally effective in reenforcing the topics. I look forward to delving deeper into this subject matter via the other courses in this series with Prof. John Kim.
