Very helpful for those who have no prior experience with ChatGPT as a teacher! Thank you!

Despite what you may have heard, ChatGPT and other generative AI tools offer exciting possibilities for innovative teaching and personalized education. This hands-on specialization is designed for K-12 educators looking to harness AI to enhance lesson planning, engage students, and foster creativity—no prior experience with ChatGPT, AI, or prompt engineering required! What You’ll Learn Throughout this specialization, you’ll gain practical skills to: ✅ Generate engaging lesson plans tailored to student interests—like teaching fractions through Pokémon. ✅ Create interactive games and printable learning materials—such as a World Cup-inspired math game. ✅ Design AI-powered class activities—like students building their own fictional characters and crafting funny fill-in-the-blank stories. ✅ Help students think innovatively—such as brainstorming how to build a paperclip-and-bottle bridge strong enough to hold a person. ✅ Generate personalized quizzes on demand—allowing students to test themselves on topics they care about, like BMX racing geometry. These techniques are adaptable to any subject or student level, making learning more interactive, creative, and fun! Our students are growing up in a world where tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and LLama will be integral to how they learn and work. But truly succeeding with AI requires a new mindset—one that amplifies critical thinking rather than replaces it.

Fabulous for teachers just starting to introduce AI to their learners
MM
A lot of fun, and it takes you from the basics of prompt engineering to complex but extremely useful patterns and formulae. Grab this course and you'll be "programming" in plain English in no time.
TM
Very good course, with lots of meaningful examples. Short and to the point. Jules does not waste your time.

Jules is always great - I think it would have been nice to see some more examples

It's amazing. I never thought that I can pass down my learning to my sons aged 9 and 8. Now, I am ready to engage them in the right way.

I really loved it, I used chatgpt to understand the videos and I'm glad coursera offers context under the videos, this helped me finish the certificate in not a long time, all it takes is dedication.

I learned how to use ChatGPT to develop more engaging and effective lesson plans, create personalized learning experiences for my students, and provide support for students with disabilities. It is a valuable resource for any educator who wants to learn how to use AI to improve their teaching practice and better support their students.
It's a fantastic course giving away tips on making teaching more personalized for individual students with the help of Generative AI Tools.
This course is great for teachers who are beginning their journey with ChatGPT and AI in education. It helps them to think about how to use AI as a tool for amplifying learning, both with and about AI.
The course is great for primary and secondary school teachers. I think that it would be even much better course if there would be much more practical examples and teaching approaches that can be used in higher education and to PhD level students.
The other two courses by this instructor were excellent. This one, however, seemed to have been thrown together. It didn't have innovative ideas, and the fourth grader theme got tiresome. There were also many misspellings and other such issues.
I think this was a rather superficial course., and many of the videos were too long and boring. What I liked was the suggestion to use ChatGPT for creating concepts for lessons. I will use that in the future to get inspiration, even though I think that most of the suggestions from ChatGPT won't work in my context, they will rather function as a starting point that I will need to adjust. However, the course leader seems to be very enthusiastic about the technological possibilities of ChatGPT but neglects many of the risks it brings along. I missed critical reflection about these risks that prepares teachers better to using ChatGPT in their own teaching. For the assignment, there was not any quality check, in the second I had submitted it, I already received the certificate. To me this looks like I could have typed in any text, even text completely unrelated with the tasks, and would have received a certificate. Altogether, this course was a rather disappointing experience.
Embarrassing content. It's a pity. Never do it for money!
This will be the first class I would suggest to teachers considering the impact of AI on teaching. A tool that provides superpowers to magnify the work they are already doing. A way to provide differentiated and personalized instruction.
It's an amazing course that will not only help teachers teachers develop more effective lesson plans but also improve the teaching quality.
I wish I had this tool when I was an Adjunct Professor. I could have provided a much richer experience for my students
It is a very nice, well-crafted course. Very clear. It comes with many examples, that can give us good ideas. However, I was expecting a course that would have been dedicated to higher education, while examples are focused on 4th grade (very great examples, nicely done, detailed, etc.). That's the only reason why I would give 4 stars instead of 5 to this course, which is really worth being followed anyway.
I took this course in June, expecting it wouldn't be much different from what I had already learned by using ChatGPT and practicing creative writing on my own. Indeed, the course offered no challenge, and it felt like I was just passing time. Today, they charged me $66. I was under the impression that the certificate was free, so I assumed this charge would grant me access to advanced content. Instead, they simply took my money for a certificate that seems to have little value, akin to something designed for a 12-year-old. This leaves me questioning why I would pay $66 for Coursera to tell me that I finished this courses 6 months later, feeling like a clear case of theft. The chatrobot cant help you with nothing and they dont want to process a refund. Its a scam
Boring, lack of teaching material. Please next time you need to show your reference before you say anything.
The "Innovative Teaching with ChatGPT" course from Vanderbilt University on Coursera surpassed my expectations in terms of ease of understanding, clarity, and immediate usefulness. The instructor presented the course content in a clear and concise manner, breaking down concepts into digestible chunks. The practical strategies and techniques provided throughout the course were immediately applicable, offering valuable insights into integrating ChatGPT into the teaching process. Real-world examples showcased the potential applications of ChatGPT in enhancing teaching and learning outcomes. Overall, I highly recommend this course to educators seeking to leverage artificial intelligence technology to create engaging and innovative learning experiences for their students. I used my new skills to assist in creating this review
I’d like to express my gratitude to Prof. Jules White for their precise and quick teaching approach, which has been invaluable in shaping my use of technology in the classroom. Their insights have helped me integrate AI effectively, allowing me to strike the perfect balance between technology and creativity. AI is undoubtedly a game-changer in fashion design education, and I’m excited to continue exploring its potential to elevate my teaching and inspire my students in new, innovative ways.
This course integrates AI into teaching practices, offering practical strategies to enhance student engagement and personalize learning. From interactive lesson plans to creative project ideas, it empowers educators to transform their classrooms into dynamic, tech-savvy environments. Highly recommended for anyone seeking to modernize their teaching methods and elevate student outcomes.
After 21 courses at some of the most prestigious universities in the world, I know a gifted educator when I observe one. Mr. Jules White makes everything he teaches come to life with his warm, conversational style and wit. I consider myself very fortunate to have taken his courses. I look forward to utilizing ChatGPT in the classes I teach in the coming months and years!
Course is very interesting and easy. However if you do each and everything practically it will be more helpful. Moreover there are large number of students / peoples want to learn via coursera having large number of financial issues. Therefore it is also requested that all courses may be granted on 100% Financial Aid specially for poor / backward countries / areas.
Dr. White's ability to explain complex topics has made learning much easier and more enjoyable. I also appreciate his friendly, personalised manner, which creates a comfortable environment, encourages engagement, and makes the material much more relatable. Thank you for the time and effort you put into your courses. It has been a great learning experience for me.
This course has given me so many ideas about how to use ChatGPT: designing games, quizzing students, adjusting materials and many more. Previously, I mean before taking this course, I was unaware of all of these methods that I can use to enrich my classes with resources, activities and genuine ideas for improvement.
