Awesome content. I am loving with the detailing that you have covered in each module. I am writing this while I have only completed 18% of the course up to pointer.

Updated in May 2025. This course now features Coursera Coach! A smarter way to learn with interactive, real-time conversations that help you test your knowledge, challenge assumptions, and deepen your understanding as you progress through the course. This course offers an in-depth introduction to modern C++ programming, focusing on features from C++11, C++14, and C++17. You'll master key techniques like memory management, object-oriented programming, operator overloading, and lambda expressions, while gaining hands-on experience through practical examples and projects. The course begins with C++ basics, including variables, functions, and debugging, before progressing to advanced topics like move semantics, memory management with smart pointers, and exception handling. You'll also explore C++17 features such as structured bindings, parallel algorithms, and advanced template programming. As you advance, you'll work on projects that reinforce concepts like inheritance, composition, file I/O, concurrency, and threading, equipping you with the tools to handle complex tasks efficiently. This course is perfect for intermediate programmers who want to master modern C++ features. Prior knowledge of basic C++ and object-oriented programming is recommended, though the course is structured to guide you step by step through each concept and feature. By the end, you'll be equipped with the skills to excel in C++ development and the job market.

Solid course. I learned a lot, however I do wish there were more interactive quizzes / small projects throughout

If you are somewhat familiar with C++, this course will give you a fast introduction to modern features.

It's a great overview of the basics, I enjoyed it! There are no coding tasks, though, only quizzes. The value categories subject doesn't mention R-value subcategories. This is not something a begginer would want to know, but the course is not for complete beginners.

Concise, compact course. Very well put together.
I learned C++ about 20 years and haven't used it since. However, I wanted to brush up so that I can use it again in the future. I found this course very useful to catch-up with the additional features from C++11 through 17. For this purpose I found the lectures perfect. The course could benefit from hands-on work. The coach sessions were fairly good (only one hiccup that I recall), and the multiple choice questions were fine, but this is a programming course that does not require students to program. Active learning could really drive the topics home. The course (or maybe the specialization) could really benefit from including features from after C++17. It's almost 10 years old now and I would not describe C++17 as "modern C++" anymore. I do not recommend this course to someone new to programming. I'd really recommend having experience in C++ already or at least experience in C.
The course material and pace is good but the interface to ask questions can be improved. For example, user interface can make it easy to ask for answers or additional questions by providing a button rather than a typed input.

there is an essential information but dueto my English I can't follow the instruction because is a little hard to me understand the accent that the teacher uses, by the way the information is accurate but something for me is missing so I have to tried with another one.
