The Additive Manufacturing for Industry Specialization equips learners with end-to-end expertise across the complete 3D printing value chain, from materials science to industrial implementation. Through an in-depth curriculum covering polymer and metal matrix composites, major AM technologies—such as powder bed fusion, directed energy deposition, and binder jetting—and precision post-processing, you will master the technical parameters required for production-grade fabrication. By analyzing authentic case studies across aerospace, automotive, biomedical, and energy sectors, you will develop the strategic competencies needed to integrate non-destructive evaluation, digital workflows, and Industry 4.0 standards into modern industrial operations.
Applied Learning Project
Through hands-on, industry-aligned capstone projects, learners will solve authentic production challenges by selecting optimal materials, configuring build parameters for advanced polymer and metal additive manufacturing systems, and executing digital design workflows. Learners will then establish end-to-end quality assurance pipelines—applying precision post-processing methods, metrology, and non-destructive testing—while conducting economic viability and sustainability analyses to validate functional components for aerospace and tooling applications.
