Build the manufacturing safety and OSHA compliance skills every shop floor depends on. This seven-course specialization prepares manufacturing workers, machine operators, maintenance teams, and supervisors to recognize hazards, follow safe procedures, and respond correctly when something goes wrong.
Each course focuses on one high-risk area of manufacturing work and aligns with the OSHA requirements that govern it. You will learn to control hazardous energy with lockout/tagout (LOTO), select and inspect personal protective equipment (PPE), work safely around machine guarding, read GHS labels and Safety Data Sheets under Hazard Communication, use fall protection at height, prevent and respond to fires with an emergency action plan, and recognize and de-escalate workplace violence and harassment.
Several of these topics, including hazard communication, lockout/tagout, and machine guarding, regularly appear among OSHA's most frequently cited standards.
Learning is practical and self-paced. Short videos, realistic manufacturing-floor examples, and interactive scenario activities let you practice real decisions, from verifying a zero-energy state to choosing whether to fight a fire or evacuate.
No prior safety training is required. Courses can be taken in any order, so you can start with the hazard that matters most in your role. Earn a shareable certificate that shows your commitment to safe, compliant work.
Applied Learning Project
Every course in this specialization uses scenario-based activities set on a realistic manufacturing floor. Instead of recalling rules, learners make the decisions a worker or supervisor faces on the job: sequencing a lockout/tagout procedure and verifying zero energy, choosing PPE for grinding or welding, deciding whether to run a machine with a damaged guard, finding first aid information in a Safety Data Sheet, flagging unsafe ladder and platform work, applying the PASS extinguisher technique, and responding to an escalating shift conflict.
Branching scenarios, hotspot explorations, decision journals, and compliant-or-not challenges give feedback on every choice. Most courses close with a checklist of essential safe practices that learners can apply on their next shift and use to lead safety conversations with their team.
