Dr. John Bellanti got his doctorate in Counselor Education from The Pennsylvania State University, in 1971 and taught courses on Individual and Group Dynamics, Empathic Understanding, and Creativity in the Classroom as an assistant professor in the College of Education before going into private practice as a licensed counseling psychologist. His creative activities include pottery, photography, and writing. In 2003, he earned his PCC (Professional Coaching Certificate) through the International Coaching Federation and started his private coaching business: Coaching Through the Crossroads where he specialized in individual and couples coaching. Three years ago he volunteered as a consultant on change for the MOOC: Creativity, Innovation, and Change writing a series of articles on Bellanti’s Belvedere (The Long View on Change). This year he joined CIC on-demand as an instructor on Change. John, lives in State College with his wife, Carolyn of fifty-four years, has three adult children and seven grandchildren. This MOOC provides an opportunity to facilitate his deepest educational belief: “In order to be free to learn, one must learn how to learn freely.” It is a lifetime process.
