Peter Furu currently holds the position as Senior Adviser at the Department of International Health, Immunology and Microbiology of University of Copenhagen. He is former Head of the WHO Collaborating Centre of Health and Environment in Sustainable Development (2002-2012) at the DBL-Centre for Health Research and Development in Denmark. With academic backgrounds in the fields of biology and public health Peter has more than 30 years of working experience on international health mainly from duties in Africa and South East Asia. Main emphasis has been on research, education and consultancies in the areas of environmental health, health impact assessment (HIA), health related aspects of agricultural development and water resources development, health impacts of climate change, integrated schistosomiasis control and poverty and environmental health linkages.
