By the end of this course, learners will understand how Air Handling Units (AHUs) are commissioned, functionally tested, diagnosed, and maintained in a Building Management System (BMS) environment. They will learn how to verify installation readiness, field devices, controller I/O, sensors, actuators, communication, and BMS points as part of the commissioning process.

Through guided walkthroughs, simulations, and practical scenarios, learners will evaluate AHU operation including fan status, airflow, temperature control, dampers, valves, interlocks, alarms, and control sequences. They will use operating data, alarms, trends, and diagnostic information to identify common mechanical, electrical, communication, and control issues. The course also introduces commissioning documentation, issue tracking, corrective action and re-testing, handover, and preventive and corrective maintenance practices that support reliable, efficient, and maintainable AHU operation.

This module explores commissioning workflows for AHU systems in BMS—point checking, communication verification, functional testing, and documentation. Learners simulate commissioning tasks using templates, identify faulty points, and validate system behavior. The course also covers preventive and corrective maintenance strategies and troubleshooting methods using BMS tools.
