There are 3 modules in this course

This module builds the regulatory foundation learners need before they can handle electronic fund transfer issues with confidence. It begins with an overview of the course and then moves into the core of Regulation E: what qualifies as an electronic fund transfer, which transactions are covered (and which are not), and the key terminology that appears throughout compliance work. From there, learners explore the consumer protection framework — the liability tiers that determine how much a consumer can lose based on when they report an unauthorized transfer, and the error resolution process that institutions must follow, including investigation timelines and provisional credit obligations. The module concludes with the disclosure and recordkeeping requirements that underpin every EFT relationship, from initial account disclosures through periodic statements and change-in-terms notices. By the end of this module, learners will be able to define EFTs, explain consumer rights and liability rules, and identify the disclosure and recordkeeping obligations that Reg E imposes.

This module bridges regulatory knowledge with real-world application. It begins with the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (ESIGN), explaining what makes an electronic signature legally valid, what institutions must do to obtain proper e-consent, and how ESIGN enables compliant electronic delivery of the Reg E disclosures and authorizations covered in Module 1. From there, learners move into the scenarios they are most likely to encounter: handling EFT disputes from initial consumer contact through investigation and resolution, processing unauthorized transfer claims, and managing the full lifecycle of recurring payment authorizations — from setup through modification and cancellation. A video walkthrough demonstrates dispute handling in action, and scenario-based activities give learners the opportunity to apply the correct steps in realistic situations. By the end of this module, learners will be able to explain ESIGN's role in Reg E compliance and confidently handle the most common EFT issues they face in their roles.

This module brings the course to a close by assessing cumulative knowledge and equipping learners with resources for continued reference. The final assessment measures understanding across all course objectives — from EFT scope and consumer protections through ESIGN requirements and practical scenario handling. Following the assessment, learners receive a consolidated summary of the course's key principles and an action-oriented checklist to bridge learning to on-the-job application. This module ensures learners leave the course not only having demonstrated competency but also with clear next steps for applying Reg E and ESIGN knowledge in their daily roles.
