By the end of this course, you’ll be able to brainstorm logo concepts, turn your ideas into polished vector artwork, and create professional logo variations using Adobe Illustrator. Derrick Mitchell will show you how to take a logo from a simple sketch all the way to a beautifully packaged finished design.

This course is for aspiring graphic designers, beginners learning Adobe Illustrator, or anyone who wants to add logo design to their creative toolkit. You’ll learn how to brainstorm and sketch ideas, experiment with digital drawing tools, and use typography, shapes, color, and Illustrator’s tools to bring your concepts to life. What makes this course unique is that you don’t need to be an artist or an amazing sketcher to create beautiful, professional-looking logos. To be successful, you should have access to Adobe Illustrator on a desktop computer. No prior logo design experience is required, and an iPad, Procreate, Adobe Fresco, or Wacom tablet is completely optional. By the end, you’ll have the skills and a finished logo you can confidently put to use.

This module introduces the course and sets the foundation for your logo design project. You’ll learn how to approach a design brief, use creative prompts to spark ideas, and generate multiple logo concepts through brainstorming. By the end, you’ll have clear directions ready to explore visually.
