This Specialization develops practical skills for managing CentOS-based Linux environments from initial installation through everyday system administration. You will configure Linux systems, navigate the file system, manage users and permissions, execute essential commands, and install and maintain software packages using YUM and RPM.
You will also create and edit configuration files with Nano and Vim, monitor system resources, and automate recurring tasks using cron. As you progress, you will configure network interfaces, IP addresses, gateways, and secure remote connections using SSH and SCP.
The Specialization further develops your ability to manage scalable storage with LVM and implement backups, archiving, compression, linking, and recovery workflows. Through task-oriented activities, you will connect individual Linux commands and concepts with realistic system administration responsibilities relevant to IT support, infrastructure, networking, and server-management environments.
