A great project to see the previous course material all coordinated and in action. It is current, and I see the relevancy of it (from the job descriptions I see on LinkedIn, Indeed, etc..). Thank you

Showcase your DevOps and Software Engineering skills with this hands-on Capstone project! In this course you will apply the skills and techniques you have learned as part of the previous courses in the Professional Certificate. During the project you will develop, test, deploy, monitor, and enhance a secure microservices-based application on Cloud, over the course of several sprints. You’ll develop an Agile plan by developing user stories and a Kanban board using ZenHub and GitHub. This plan will be implemented to create a RESTful microservice-based Flask application. You will employ Test Driven Development (TDD) to create and execute tests for the app. You will complete many other tasks like adding functionality using Continuous Integration, ensuring the app is secure, and deploy the app on Cloud using Kubernetes. You will also build an automated CI/CD pipeline. This course is the final course in the IBM DevOps Engineering Professional Certificates. It is recommended that you complete all the previous courses in this Professional Certificate before starting this course.

I learned a bunch and am applying this knowledge to my current work project. The dependencies on open source apps can be a hurdle in the business environment.
AJ
Very detailed and I really enjoyed the program though it had some parts that was more difficult than I imaged, I enjoyed it.
MG
A great structured way to learn agile project management and complete end-to-end project development using DevOps technologies and methodologies.
FB
Fantastic course, very well made with interactive tutorials. One of the best I've followed.
FE
Very polished and well put together. A worthy finish for the specialisations it is part of.

I learned so much during this professional certificate; I am now more confident when working on projects and consulting. Thanks to all the instructors and teachers of the courses.
EL
Worthy conclusion for the DevOps specialization. A ZenHub account is required and that could be a problem to consider.

Excellent review and test of all the prior courses. Its implementation and execution are marred by some A) lab guidance oscialtes between vague and tight, mixed w/ overly specific (hence a confusing mix, often misleading the novice!) ; B) poor logistics, e.g., early June the Ubuntu LTS 1804 expires, hence the baseline setup changes added errors and a few wasted days of intense frustration (unlike the other 15 courses); C) usual Skills Lab IDE/GUI issue: Implicit assumption of a skilled/young CS learner using multiple large HIRES screens - all 3 windows clearly in sight. I'm a 60+ non-CS engineer/scientist using just a small laptop (w/o printer to review the instructions), struggling to juggle all the infos on a tiny screen...
Staff: J. Rofrano is a great tutor; perhaps the TAs and the sysadmin could beta-test these labs on 2-3 colleagues for clarity, bugs (e.g., the .github was riddled w/ tiny problems on ISSUE_TEMPLATE(S) et. al) and thus clear the alleged issues.
Great videos and quiz format learned a lot from this and enjoyed going through courses. MAJOR ISSUE I had with this is with Zenhub's free trial. Once the 2 weeks is out it is impossible to get it extended without having to pay for a monthly subscription. With the trial only being 2 weeks long it shouldn't be introduced until the final project when you direly need it the most or figure out a better way to do the 2 week trial with zenhub
Kudos to the team that put together the DevOps Capstone Project course -- it was a truly immersive experience. The hands-on nature of this Capstone was its standout feature. Tackling challenges, setting up pipelines, and deploying applications provided a comprehensive grasp of the DevOps lifecycle. It replicated the pressures and intricacies of a real-world DevOps scenario, making the learning deeply practical.
To Professor John Rofrano and the entire team, I offer my sincere thanks for all their teachings and for their excellent work!
This course provides all the practical resources and in-depth knowledge needed to shape a professional in the field. The hands-on approach ensures a solid foundation, making it highly effective for real-world applications. However, one area where it falls short is the versatility of the tech stack. Expanding the coverage to include a broader range of tools and frameworks would make it even more valuable for learners looking to adapt to different industry requirements. Overall, it’s a great course for skill-building, but a more diverse tech stack would enhance its impact.
Great course. However, it would be much better if it had more practical exercises like the Final Capstone. Practicing is the best way to learn and memorize such extensive content. Maybe you could offer an extension course with just similar Capstone exercises. I would feel more prepared to work as a Software Engineer.
Before I started this course, had no clue where and how to deploy apps in microservice. Now I, accomplishing the course, have filled the gaps as well as gained knowledge of fundemental testing the app so that I can start developing my own apps. Thanks IBM for clear and simple content of modern DevSecOps.
Thanks to mr. John J. Rofrano! Great man and enthusiastic instructor! Also, thanks to everybody in your team and IBM company. I am very satisfied with this excellent course. It gives me more than I thought I would gain.
