This course introduces database concepts as related to the design of online data systems. This course will focus on the design and use of the MySQL relational database and Structured Query Language (SQL). Problems involving structuring, creating, maintaining, and accessing multi-user databases are presented and solutions developed. Comparisons of several commercially available database management systems are made including NoSQL systems.
