Whether you're a supervisor, safety professional, HR practitioner, or frontline employee, this course helps you understand how OSHA standards protect workers, reduce workplace risks, and support a culture of safety and accountability.

Through four structured modules, you'll explore the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Act, OSHA's regulatory framework, hazard recognition and risk assessment, the hierarchy of controls, and workplace compliance requirements. You'll learn how to interpret OSHA standards, identify common workplace hazards, prepare for inspections, and apply injury prevention and recordkeeping practices in real-world settings. The course emphasizes practical application over memorization, helping you confidently navigate OSHA requirements and contribute to safer, more compliant workplaces. Interactive activities, role-play scenarios, hands-on labs, discussion prompts, and a capstone compliance project reinforce key concepts and prepare you to apply OSHA principles in your day-to-day role. This module covers the legal foundation of workplace safety in the U.S., focusing on the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSH Act) and OSHA’s role in creating and enforcing safety standards. It explores the law’s purpose, the General Duty Clause, and the difference between Federal OSHA and State Plan programs. Key topics include workers' rights to a safe workplace, training, and protection from retaliation, as well as employers’ responsibilities to provide a hazard-free workplace, comply with OSHA standards, and meet training and posting requirements.
