This Specialization is designed for data engineers, cloud architects, and analytics engineers seeking to strengthen their skills in modern data platform management. Across three courses, learners explore data governance workflows with Databricks, data lake and pipeline management with Google Cloud Dataplex, and full-text querying and optimization with Elasticsearch. The curriculum connects governance, data platform operations, and search to help learners understand how reliable and discoverable data supports analytics and machine learning workloads.
Applied Learning Project
Learners will apply cloud data engineering concepts to practical scenarios involving governance, data lake operations, and information retrieval. They will explore how to organize metadata, establish data quality and security workflows using Databricks tools, manage data lakes and automate pipelines with Google Cloud Dataplex, and execute full-text queries using Elasticsearch. Learners will also examine query optimization and data discovery techniques to understand how governed, well-organized, and searchable data supports downstream analytics. These activities connect data platform concepts with common engineering responsibilities in cloud-based environments.
