In this course, you will gain hands-on experience with object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts including encapsulation, abstraction, inheritance, and polymorphism. You will learn how to define and implement classes and objects. You'll work with advanced OOP techniques such as interfaces, method overloading, and the Java collections framework. You'll gain the skills needed to manage data using lists, sets, queues, and maps while handling file input/output operations using Java streams. You'll also work with directory management as well as date and time operations. For your final project, you'll build a mood-tracking application that you can share with prospective employers. This course features numerous guided, hands-on, beginner-friendly coding experiences. If you have prior coding experience, take advantage of the non-graded, intermediate-level, real-world coding "challenges" with their real-world coding projects. This is a very well designed and thought out course. I like that it's very hands on. It reminds me of Udacity courses in a way. The course says 20 hours but I really did spend like almost 60 hrs on it because I spent 3 hrs a day for 19 days working on this because I did every single lab. I recommend doing the labs to get the most out of this course. The AI grading was very interesting. There were some parts of the videos where the narrator was reading each line of code like a robot, but luckily it wasn't for long.
Thank you for creating such a beautiful course on Object-Oriented Design Fundamentals. This course was implementation heavy rather than just focusing on Theory, which gives it attendee a structure to apply concepts in the real-world scenarios. From micro-projects to graded-assessments, to Final Project, everything was carefully organized.
