University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
Technical excellence is a given. Hiring outstanding faculty, admitting students with exceptional credentials, delivering innovative and market-relevant accounting curriculum, and preparing students to pass the CPA exam are essential ingredients of our leading accounting master’s programs. At Gies, we take all of these areas seriously. We teach students to develop and apply an analytics-oriented mindset to a variety of accounting scenarios, including financial accounting, audit and tax, advisory and managerial, and forensics.
Practicing skills is an equally important component of learning. At Gies, we create opportunities for our students to learn through practicing key technical and non-technical business skills. The results are invaluable and foster personal and professional development.
The iMSA program is fully developed and taught by Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois. The University of Illinois leverages Coursera’s online education platform to deliver the program curriculum, allowing iMSA students to benefit from Coursera features such as interactive video transcription, in-course note taking, and seamless learning across multiple devices.
The Coursera Platform
Degrees on Coursera are powered by technology that empowers you to learn on your schedule and on the device of your choice. Courses consist of modules that can be completed during commutes or other short periods of spare time. Courses include supplementary readings, video lectures, assignments, and discussion forums that help you spark connections with your peers.
Students will also attend live classrooms sessions with professors, work together on group projects, and get access to instructors during live office hours. Faculty are hands-on and interactive in classes and projects. They hold weekly live class sessions for you, covering multiple time zones across the world.
Lectures are organized into weekly modules, which can be absorbed via video playback or interactive transcript. Pace yourself through online lectures before meeting with the professor and your classmates to dive deeper into the material.
Access your courses from anywhere — you can even download them to your mobile device and study offline without using your data plan.
Interact with fellow students through course forums. Get access to every question asked and answered by previous students. Meet, network, and work with peers in the program during live class sessions and regional meetups (optional).
Coursera does not grant credit, and does not represent that any institution other than the degree-granting institution will recognize the credit or credential awarded by the institution; the decision to grant, accept, or transfer credit is subject to the sole and absolute discretion of an educational institution.
We encourage you to investigate whether this degree meets your academic and/or professional needs before applying.
