Alex is currently Senior Lecturer at the University of Western Australia Business School. She received her PhD in Industrial-Organisational Psychology in 2011 from University of Houston, Texas, USA. As the recipient of the international Fulbright scholarship, during 2005-5007 she conducted research on employee motivation at University of California Berkeley, California, USA. Before her academic career she worked as HR manager at a marketing company in Lithuania. During her graduate studies she was involved in applied projects with the energy sector companies such as Exxon Mobil and Saudi Aramco. Her research focuses on two primary domains: 1) over-qualification or underemployment and 2) diversity at the workplace. Alex has published her research in such highly regarded academic journals as Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, and Human Resource Management, among others. During her tenure at UWA, she has won approximately $159,000 in research grants.
