Susan is an Associate Professor in Organisational Studies in the Department of Marketing and Management. She is an internationally recognised expert in discourse analysis, qualitative methods, older workers and gender within organisations. Her research interests also include privacy and employment, specifically the impact of new technologies such as social networking sites and social media. Before becoming an academic, Susan worked in industrial relations, equal employment opportunity and human resource management in public and private sector organisations. She is on the editorial boards of the journals Organisation Studies and Journal of Management Studies and is as Associate Editor for Gender, Work and Organisation and Qualitative Research in Organisations and Management.
