Tina Lasisi, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology and the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Michigan. Her work spans biological anthropology, data science, AI-assisted research workflows, and public science communication. She is affiliated with the Michigan Institute for Data & AI in Society, the Center for Ethics, Society, and Computing, and the Center for Computational Medicine & Bioinformatics. Dr. Lasisi develops open-source tools and educational resources that help learners use data and AI more thoughtfully. Her teaching emphasizes practical skill-building, critical interpretation, and the responsible use of AI as a collaborator rather than a replacement for human judgment.
