Thomas Farmer is a Lecturer in Electrical and Systems Engineering, and Computer and Information Science at Penn Engineering. Tom's research focus is in the area of radio frequency integrated circuits (RFIC) in CMOS, BiCMOS, or III-V technologies. He is primarily engaged in researching RF and digital integrated circuits for microwave and millimeter-wave communication systems, radar systems, and imaging systems. In his work, Tom is interested in finding creative ways to yield higher RF output power from power amplifiers made in silicon-based IC technologies at millimeter-wave frequencies, through innovative circuit design, while still achieving high linearity, efficiency, and gain. Tom received his PhD in Computer Engineering from The George Washington University (2010) and his MS in Computer Science from The City University of New York-College (2002).
