Bio

Dr Aquino completed his Master in Theoretical Physics at the University of Pisa and his PhD in physics of complex systems at the Center for NonLinear Science of the University of North Texas. His main research interests fall within the broad areas of modelling complex systems in physics, biology and social systems. His research work at Imperial College London, Max Planck Institute of Complex Systems and at the University of Surrey, advanced modelling of cell sensing and stem cell differentiation using information theory, Bayesian inference and both equilibrium and non-equilibrium statistical mechanics approaches. He has collaborated with Public Health England on modelling of infectious diseases and the Alan Turing Institute he works at complex network modelling of conflicts. He has taught mathematics for undergraduate students at the University of North Texas, calculus for System Biology Master Students at Imperial College London and Statistical Physics at the University of Amsterdam.
