Learners explore manufacturing processes for boilers, including metal joining (welding), forming, heat treatment, and fabrication flow for headers, pipes, panels, and coils, along with commonly used materials and statutory codes and standards. Destructive and non-destructive testing, calibration, and quality control are emphasized to ensure structural integrity and reliability.

The course covers boiler erection planning, sequence of erection for structures, pressure parts, ducting, fans, pulverizers, coal bunkers, and auxiliary systems. Commissioning and pre-commissioning processes, chemical cleaning, cold and hot boiler cleanup, fuel system commissioning, steam blowing, soot blower operations, and boiler start-up/shutdown sequences are explained in detail.
