Your world has rules. Your characters have identity. Now it’s time to build the spaces where everything actually happens.

In this course, you’ll design environments as lived-in, story-driven spaces, not just backgrounds. You’ll explore how rooms, streets, and public spaces reflect your character’s life and your world’s logic, using light, scale, objects, and composition to communicate meaning. Working in Adobe Firefly Boards, you’ll create a connected set of environments that feel consistent, intentional, and grounded. By the end, you’ll have a complete Environment Design Pack, a set of spaces that bring your world to life and show how your character moves through it every day.

Environments are not backdrops, they’re part of the story. In this module, you’ll learn how to think like an environment designer, where every space reflects both world logic and character identity. You’ll explore how concept artists approach environments, and how to translate your existing World Blueprint into physical, explorable spaces. This is where your world becomes something you can step into.

In this module, you’ll design both intimate interiors and larger exterior spaces, learning how layout, lighting, and objects communicate identity and culture. You’ll also explore how these spaces connect, ensuring everything feels like part of the same world. This is where your environments begin to feel lived-in and believable.
