Yoga should meet people where they are, especially when they are recovering from injury, managing pain, rebuilding strength, or returning to movement after time away. By the end of this course, learners will understand how adaptive yoga can be used to support tissue healing, restore function, improve mobility, and build confidence through safe, personalized progressions.
Guided by Yoni Kedem, RYT, this course teaches learners how to modify postures with props, adjust load and range of motion, and pace yoga practices for people who are injured, deconditioned, new to yoga, or working through chronic discomfort.
Through anatomy-based instruction, practical labs, and graded assignments, learners explore the mechanics behind key poses and transitions, connecting them to goals such as reducing pain, improving circulation, rebuilding strength, and supporting return to activity.
Yoga, fitness, wellness, and rehabilitation professionals will gain practical tools for adapting yoga safely, while general learners will better understand how yoga can be adjusted for different bodies and recovery needs. This course offers an accessible, functional approach to yoga for real people, real limitations, and real progress.
This course explores how yoga can be used as a powerful and accessible tool for muscle recovery, rehabilitation, and overall wellbeing. Under the expert guidance of instructor Vern, you’ll learn how to apply simple, effective yoga practices to reduce tension, improve circulation, and restore healthy movement patterns following exercise, strain, or injury. The course is rich with practical tips for beginners and for teachers working with beginners, offering guidance on adapting postures and sequences for different body types, abilities, and fitness levels. You’ll discover how mindful breathing and alignment enhance recovery and support neuromuscular coordination, and how yoga’s emphasis on balance and awareness helps prevent overuse and re-injury. Combining traditional yoga principles with modern understanding of anatomy and muscle function, this course provides a safe, supportive foundation for anyone looking to integrate yoga into rehabilitation, athletic conditioning, or self-care practice.
