Edwin Tso

Research Assistant Professor

Bio

Dr. Tso received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 1st class honors, MPhil degree in Environmental Engineering and PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 2010, 2012 and 2015, respectively. He received the PhD Research Excellence Award from HKUST (2016), and he also got the Fulbright-RGC Hong Kong Research Scholar Award (2014), spending 6 months as a title of Fulbright Visiting Research Scholar in University of California, Berkeley. Besides, he also received the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fellowship (2013), won the Bronze Award of JEC Outstanding Engineering Project (2013), got the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship (2012) and Ove Arup Research Prize Awards (2012), etc. Dr. Tso is currently a Research Assistant Professor of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Junior Fellow at the HKUST Jockey Club Institute for Advanced Study (IAS). His work covers thermofluid, particularly, in the fields of sustainable environment, heat transfer, adsorption technology, thermal rectification, nanofluids, passive radiative cooling and energy related issues using numerical simulations as well as advanced experimental techniques.
