Dr. Hausmann is an internationally recognized professor, consultant, former senior executive and author focusing on leadership and large-scale change in complex systems. He has 20 years of experience advising senior leadership in public, private, and non-profit organizations. His work has emphasized improving performance outcomes for organizations working in unforgiving social and political environments, an environment rich with complexity, and where the scale of consequences can be catastrophic. Specialties: Leadership development, organizational design, strategic planning, change management, competency-based human capital management, knowledge management, leading and building high performance teams, coaching, research methods Dr. Hausmann's current research is focused on learning and innovation in domestic and global health systems. He have been a researcher and strategic advisor to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Inter-American Development Bank’s Salud Meso America Initiative (SMI) and the Texas Medical Center’s Innovation Institute. As a principal investigator, Dr. Hausmann has examined the mechanisms to improve the diffusion, dissemination, and scale-up of innovation in global health settings. Using quantitative, qualitative, and network analyses, he studies how public-private partnerships can be used to reduce health equity gaps faced by those living in extreme poverty. This research and analyses has been used to improve public and private health systems operations across the globe, notably in India, Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama.
